Ehem ehem, a little lyrical, a little not so lyrical is my ode to an eggplant. Here goes—
In a world full of expectations,
unexpected is an aubergine owl.
It is evolution you see—
A vegetable now, is a privilege to be,
We travel far and wide.
So much to see
and absorb.
Not just those repellents
or gene-modifying drops,
Here’s a little tale, a tiny test
Though it fouls my nest—
Over an occasion, a three-year-old expressed,
“Rains are bad, so much muck”
How will we grow vegetables? I pressed.
With a smirk,
She said, “I’ll take it out from the fridge.”
My eyes widened beyond what you see (here)—
Perceptions of a little girl,
in a world full of expectations,
unexpected are vegetables growing in a refrigerator.
Aila, this is only too familiar, Sheelaa!
Its missing that fab office-desk wala picture :P
That’s the source of the ‘character’ :D I think I should add it.
